BASICS:

Our in-depth sessions were developed for those students who wish to "begin at the beginning" with  a consistent group of committed individuals.  Whether this is your first yoga class or you've taken many, our program will give you a solid foundation for starting or continuing your yoga practice.  Start anytime!

BEYOND BASICS:

For those who have completed YSSC Yoga Basics. Become comfortable and proficient at various yoga routines and begin to develop a home practice. Soon you may find yourself doing yoga every day and loving it!

VINYASA YOGA:

Vinyasa -- the linking of body and movement to breath -- brings one's yoga practice to deep states of awareness and calm.  Learn various sequences of breath-synchronized movements and experience the power of transformation.

HIP and KNEE REPLACEMENT?...JUST WALK!

Learn proper alignment and movement principles that will exempt you from the growing number of people needing these invasive procedures (or prevent you from needing a second). Learn to walk so that you sustain your body--joints, spine and all--for the long haul!

BEYOND YOGA:

What does it mean to "do yoga?" Beyond the practices of postures and breathing lies the state of being the ancients called samadhi. How and where do we find this? In this class, we'll explore the philosophical tools, both mental and physical, use throughout the ages that can lead us to this enlightened state.

LUNCH HOUR YOGA:

Take your lunch hour to rejuvenate and energize yourself for the afternoon during our Mysore sessions. Come any time between 11 am and 1 pm. Stay for as long or as little as you like. Qualified teacher present to guide you.

MEDITATION CLASS :

Yoga is meditation! Preparing oneself to meditate is an essential activity that the ancients have prescribed for the peace and well-being of humanity.

JOURNEY to BLISS:

Through yoga, dance and beautiful music, we attune our bodies and minds to prepare for deep healing in yoga nidra (30 minute led meditation). A wonderful antidote to modern day stress.

BALLROOM DANCE WORKSHOP:

Good alignment is good balance is good dancing!  Where can you find out about your alignment?  At Yoga School of South County's Yoga and Ballroom workshop, of course.  Come to one or all three.  Please bring a partner.  No yoga or dance experience needed.

DANCES OF UNIVERSAL PEACE:

From the beginning of time, chant and song have brought people together. We dance in a circle - using simple movements and sacred chants and song from many of the world's faith traditions. These dances foster a profound, living experience of unity. No experience necessary.

Private Yoga:

Organize a yoga class for yourself, your family, friends, or co-workers. Think of a private yoga class as an hour with a personal trainer, life coach, and meditation specialist. An individual or group (up to 10 people) session is $60. Please call Rose at: 401-932-1009 for scheduling and more information.

 

Teacher Training:

Our 500 hour teacher training program meets and exceeds the national standards for certifying yoga teachers.  Ongoing registration for this program allows students to begin whenever ready.  Our teacher training program runs concurrent with regularly scheduled classes and is supplemented with weekend workshops.  Please see makeitsoyoga.com for curriculum guidelines and an application.
