BASICS:

Our in-depth 8 week sessions were developed for those students who wish to "begin at the beginning" with  a consistent group of committed individuals .  Whether this is your first yoga class or you've taken many, our program will give you a solid foundation for starting or continuing your yoga practice. 6-week sessions

BEYOND BASICS:

For those who have completed YSSC Yoga Basics. Become comfortable and proficient at various yoga routines and begin to develop a home practice. Soon you may find yourself doing yoga every day and loving it! 6-week sessions

MYSORE:

Students are taught individually the basic elements for a regular daily practice and, once proficient, practice on their own under the guidance of a qualified teacher. Ongoing registration

GENTLE PRENATAL YOGA:

Learn how to relax into your transforming body and prepare for your baby through breathing exercises and comfortable, gentle yoga poses. No yoga experience necessary. 6-week sessions

MOMMY & BABY YOGA:

Babies, 10 weeks to 10 months (or crawling), join their mommies in a bonding session of yoga, relaxation, and natural parenting tips. Bring a baby blanket and diaper bag. Daycare available for siblings. 6-week sessions

MOM'S YOGA:

Have you been wanting to do yoga, but don't want to leave the kids with a babysitter? Join a group of moms and share the daycare right at our lovely studio. The village green playbround is right outside our door. Please call 782-9511 to sign up for daycare. 6 week sessions

VINYASA YOGA:

Vinyasa -- the linking of body and movement to breath -- brings one's yoga practice to deep states of awareness and calm.  Learn various sequences of breath-synchronized movements and experience the power of transformation. 6-week sessions

In this class, we’ll take it slow and easy and address any limitations due to injury, long term inactivity, physical disability, age, weight, etc. No experience necessary. 6 week sessions

YOGA IN THE PARK:

Appreciate the simple and free gifts of sky, earth, freah air and breeze in a more profound and conscious way as we bring our yoga practice to the park right outside our school. Please bring a towel or blanket. In the event of rain, class will be cancelled.

THE EIGHT LIMBS OF YOGA:

An introduction to the ancient (3,000 years) outline for well-being used by yogis throughout the centuries and throughout the world. The Eight Limbs of Yoga provides us with a clear and concise guide to the fundamental and universal principles of yoga and well-being. No yoga experience necessary.

1st Wednesday of the month

YOGA AND WALKING:

Learn how yogic principles of alignment, posture and breathing relate to everyday walking.  Gain an understanding of how to "carry" your yoga practice through your day by practicing "prana walking."  A posture and gait analysis will be done for each student.

INVERSIONS AND ARM BALANCES:

Learning good alignment and balance while upside down illuminates and strengthens our understanding of our daily “upside right” existence.

YOGA AND BALLROOM DANCE

Good alignment is good balance is good dancing!  Where can you find out about your alignment?  At Yoga School of South County's Yoga and Ballroom workshop, of course.  Come to one or all three.  Please bring a partner.  No yoga or dance experience needed.

MEDITATION TO REDUCE STRESS:

Prepare for a seated meditation practice by learning yogic tools to move the energy, free the hips for sitting, calm the mind and tone the body. Discover how to go "beyond the breath." Taught by Ram Smith, a yoga teacher in the Ananda tradition for over 30 years.

Private Yoga:

Organize a yoga class for yourself, your family, friends, or co-workers. Think of a private yoga class as an hour with a personal trainer, life coach, and meditation specialist. An individual or group (up to 10 people) session is $60. Please call 782-9511 for scheduling and more information.

 

Teacher Training:

Our 500 hour teacher training program meets and exceeds the national standards for certifying yoga teachers.  Ongoing registration for this program allows students to begin whenever ready.  Our teacher training program runs concurrent with regularly scheduled classes and is supplemented with weekend workshops.  Please see makeitsoyoga.com for curriculum guidelines and an application.  Location:  Yoga School
